On Friday 11th April Spelthorne Liberal Democrats selected Mark Chapman to be their prospective parliamentary candidate for Spelthorne at the next General Election.

Welcoming the announcement, Cllr Colin Strong, Lib Dem Leader of the Opposition said:

"I am delighted that Mark Chapman has been chosen. Mark is a superb choice and will be a very strong champion for all the towns and villages across our Borough.

"Across Spelthorne it will be a battle between the Lib Dems and the Conservatives, with Labour out of the running."

Mark Chapman outlined his first areas that he and the local Lib Dem team will tackle, "An immediate concern is Heathrow expansion. It's essential that residents voices are heard by Government.

"We also need to hold the Conservatives to account. Both the Borough and County Councils continue to ignore residents wishes and waste huge sums of taxpayers money."

Mark Chapman is looking forward to challenging the sitting Conservative MP and with the Liberal Democrats doubling their Councillors last year are on target for future success.
