Cllrs Nichola Cornes (l) and Chris Bateson (r) with Youth Centre Founder Michelle Arnold (Spelthorne Liberal Democrats)By Councillor Nichola Cornes

Borough Councillors get a grant to spend within the Borough to improve the life of its residents. Cllr Bateson and I have been delighted to support Spelthorne Youth.

We visited the Youth Club yesterday evening and we were touched by the dedication of Michelle, the children's stories and the volunteer commitment. We believe very strongly in the provision of Youth Centres and the massive difference they can make to young peoples lives.

Spelthorne Youth is a supportive environment for local children aged 10-14yrs where they could have fun, learn new skills and meet new people. Spelthorne Youth opened its doors on Tuesday 12th November and now boasts over 55 youth members offering a fantastic array of activities such as crafts, cooking and sports.

Spelthorne Youth is run completely by volunteers every Tuesday in term time from 6.30-8pm at Ashford Youth Centre, Kenilworth Road, Ashford, Middlesex.
