Council rejects phone mast application after pressure lead by LibDems

Staines Mobile Mast Application Stopped - Spelthorne LibDems (Spelthorne Liberal Democrats)

Fenton Avenue, Petersfield Road, Strodes Crescent and Kenilworth Garden residents affected

Of serious concern to Residents living in the Fenton Avenue, Petersfield Road, Strodes Crescent and Kenilworth Gardens areas was a planning application submitted to erect a 20 metre high phone mast. This was to be situated slap bang in the middle of a condensed residential area at the junction of Fenton Ave and Petersfield Rd.

There was understandable concern by Residents as to the visual impact such a mast would have, being out of keeping with the Local area. Following representation on behalf of local people I, along with some local Residents, made a compelling case against the application and persuaded the Council to reject the application. A victory for local people!

Chris commented at the time "I am very pleased that the coming together of local opposition to this proposal and the added weight of my representation to the Council as your local Representative meant that common sense prevailed. The location proposed was clearly unsuitable being a high density residential area where a mast of such magnitude would have quite frankly have been an eyesore."
