Caroline regularly litter picks in Lower Sunbury
Local Liberal Democrats are getting ready for The Great British Spring Clean in March. For the past 18 months, local Lib Dem campaigner Caroline Nichols (below) has challenged Spelthorne Council to get more plastic out of the environment and into recycling.
Caroline was delighted when, in December, the Council agreed to raise the profile of the great British Spring Clean and promote it in the Spring Borough Bulletin.
Caroline has been working with Cllr Tom Fidler, who has joined the Council's newly formed Flytipping, Abandoned Vehicles and Littering task group. Tom has already worked with SBC's Neighbourhood Services to get a big clear up near Halliford station.
Tom said "Spelthorne's waste department works hard to clean up the environment but they can only do so much without residents' help. It's up to all of us to get involved, and the Great British Spring Clean is a great way to start."
