As many of you will know there is a well-used footpath running from the Kingston Road near the Jolly Butcher Public House through to Berryscroft Road. It is used significantly by parents and school children going to and from Buckland School as well as other residents.
The path had become progressively overgrown with foliage and vegetation, reducing the width of the path and making it more difficult to negotiate. I took up the issue with Surrey County Council to get this important pathway cleared before schools resume at the beginning of September. I am pleased to report the necessary work was carried out at the end of July. At the same time I was also able to get work done on cutting back a dead tree which was overhanging and damaging fencing on properties at the back of Hazel Grove much to the relief of those concerned.
Lib Dem Councillor Chris Bateson commented "This area had been neglected for sometime and the extent to which the path had been obstructed had made it hazardous in wet weather and when poor visibility prevailed. I am pleased the required action was forthcoming to make accessibility easier for those returning to school in September and for general use in the winter months ahead "
