Asbestos threat in Spelthorne

Surrey County Council is seeking to change the use of approximately 140 sq.m of land from light industrial to an asbestos waste transfer station allowing the importation, storage and transfer of asbestos and the provision of two sealed lockable 16-yard containers.

This is between Crayonne Close and the M3 It is just one mile in a straight line from the proposed Charlton Lane incinerator. Just across the Motorway from 2 schools. The Shears junction is the most congested in Spelthorne.

Spelthorne will make a recommendation to Surrey, but Surrey will have the final decision which it should make at the end of the year.
