Even a little re-greening was accomplished!

Cllr Tom Fidler has been working with Spelthorne Council Officers and A2Dominion to resolve a number of local issues in Martingale Close. Residents have been working hard to maintain their road, but have been troubled by a few problems that required Councillor support.

There is a fantastic tree near the bend in the road that had not been maintained for some time. Working with Spelthorne, the tree has been tidied at the bottom, the gutters in the road cleared of debris, and a new young tree planted to continue to re-green the area in a tidy manner. It has also allowed for the road to be more easily navigable and released some space for additional car parking spaces which had been cut off.

The road had also been hit by a plight of fly-tipping in the communal grass areas. This land was maintained by A2Dominion and the problem had built up. Fortunately, we were able to get this cleared and the grass area allows for people to enjoy it again.

Commenting, Cllr Tom Fidler said: "These are only small issues, but they all help to improve the area. Residents in the area have taken such pride in their immediate community, but these outstanding issues needed resolving and I'm glad we've been able to deal with them in a timely manner and to the delight of those that live there".

In neighbouring roads, the local Lib Dem team is helping to improve the area working with residents and the key stakeholders in maintaining them.
