Crucial Bus Routes face the Axe
A crucial bus route linking Spelthorne to St Peters Hospital (557) is on a long hit lists of cuts that bus operator Abellio is implementing at the end of the year. It will also effect several routes used by children to get to school and leaves Shepperton without any bus services at all! Other routes are being changed
The cuts which effect Spelthorne, Runnymede and Woking are due to come into effect on January 1st next year. A petition raised by a student who loses her means of getting to college can be signed on-line.
Lib Dems have called on Surrey to act to stop these crucial routes being cut. "The effects on some of the most vulnerable will be devastating" said Cllr Ian Beardsmore. "Surrey must not let these routes go" he added.
