Heathrow Airtrack consultation needs your input now

South-West train enters station

Now is your chance to have a say on the Air Track Proposals. While Lib Dems fully support the principle of moving people from road to rail, the way being proposed in this scheme is unacceptable.

Lib Dem Parliamentary spokesman Mark Chapman has grave concerns about the proposal in its current form. Mark explained "the thought of the pylons disfiguring Stanwell Moor is unacceptable. The Moor is too important to be spoilt in this way. In addition the chaos from having the level crossing near Staines Bridge shut for 44 minutes in every hour is absurd."

The scheme is being promoted as a Transport and Works Act Order which allows transport infrastructure schemes to be fast tracked through the planning system without the possibility of a full public enquiry. If you are not in favour of this scheme it is vital that you write in and make your views known - you will not get a second chance.
