Councillor Sandra Dunn has used Neighbourhood Grant funding to support a local football project run by the Police and Kick London.

The Sunbury Football Project started on Wednesday, 5th August at the Cedar's Recreation Ground in Sunbury and was organised by PC Caroline Barnes of Surrey Police and her team for the young people of the local area. Kick London (a Christian Football Coaching Charity) provided the coaching free and A2 Dominion provided refreshments during the sessions for the weeks in August. Approximately 15 young people turned up each week to receive the tuition and seemed to thoroughly enjoy each session.

On Friday, 4th September the Project moved to its winter home in St. Paul's School, Sunbury supported by the same people. 18 young people turned up to the first session and it is hoped that this will provide a useful activity during the long winter months. Funding for the Project has come from a combination of the Neighbourhood Grant scheme allowed to Ward Councillor Sandra Dunn and funding raised by PC Caroline Barnes through Andy Holdaway, Youth Borough Officer, which will allow this to continue until the end of January 2010.
