At a campaign rally in Staines, Liberal Democrat supporters came together to hear Harry Boparai's priorities if elected to parliament and to listen to guest speaker, Will Forster, who is the clear front runner to be the next MP for Woking.

The audience included a raft of supporters who have joined Harry’s campaign in the last year, when Harry Boparai has been campaigning all across Spelthorne.  The timing of the general election may have taken everyone by surprise, but Harry has been talking and listening to residents for months and has his finger on the pulse of Spelthorne because he lives here.

Both Labour and the Conservatives have parachuted in outsiders with no links to Spelthorne after the election was called. This is because the Conservatives take the seat for granted and Labour has no chance of winning.

The Conservatives have brought in a candidate who tried for at least two other South East constituencies before finally getting Spelthorne.  Be in no doubt, he hoped to become the MP for somewhere else.

The Labour party have had their candidate imposed on them by party HQ, with local members having no say.

Neither of the other main party candidates has any knowledge or experience of Spelthorne. Harry said, "I would not have the nerve to turn up at a constituency for the first time after the election was called and say that I have come to be your MP."

Harry said “I want to be the MP for Spelthorne, nowhere else, just Spelthorne.  I want to make a difference for the people I live next door to and who share my community.  MPs should represent their communities, and that means knowing the area and what the issues here really are.  Labour and the Conservatives have put up party hacks who know nothing of Spelthorne and care even less”.
