The upkeep of the area surrounding Sweeps Ditch in Knightsbridge Crescent has always been a contentious one. The road is prone to flooding and therefore it is vitally important that the roadway and gullies are kept clear of vegetation.
In recent times the area has been neglected with vegetation having grown over the kerb and into the road. This in turn has seen vital gullies obscured and blocked and thus the flow away of water impeded.
Cllr Chris Bateson in one his regular patrols around the ward was mindful of the problems this neglect and lack of attention could bring for residents. He has swiftly sought action to remedy the situation and as can be seen now the area has received significant attention, with overgrown vegetation and shrubbery removed and both road and kerbside fully visible.
It has also transformed the outlook for Residents.
