The Spelthorne LDF review, scheduled to start on 4th December has now been delayed by the Inspector for two months. The Inspector has suggested to Spelthorne Council that the hearings should now start on the 5th of February.

At the pre-hearing in early October there were a number of issues raised various issues, including Developer challenges to the Council's Green Belt policies. There were also concerns about the LDF process itself.

The formal statement says: "The delay gives time for these matters to be considered and resolved, without prejudicing the ability of participants to prepare adequately for the hearing sessions. It will also provide the opportunity, if needed, for the Inspector to hold any further exploratory discussions with the Council and participants on substantive issues."

Local Liberal Democrats have made submissions on a wide range of LDF policies and will be making representations at the formal hearing.

A further pre-examination meet is likely to be held in early-December.
