Chubb House - now to be converted into a hotel

Planning permission has been granted to convert Chubb House into a hotel. The development, which will also include some additional office space, is the key element in the regeneration plan for Sunbury Cross.

Local Liberal Democrats Councillors had some concerns about the development, particularly the fact that the developer will not be required to make any contribution to local infrastructure. The only charge will be £4,500 to fund a transport assessment.

The development will have a profound impact on Sunbury Cross and the people who live there. Local Lib Dems would have liked to have a higher level of consultation - there have been no meetings with the public or local Councillors.
