Spelthorne Liberal Democrats select Rosie Shimell as their Prospective Parliamentary

1 Jan 2014

Spelthorne Liberal Democrats are delighted to have selected Rosie Shimell as their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate in the run up to the 2015 General Election. Rosie was the clear winner when Local Liberal Democrats met to decide the issue a fortnight before Christmas.

Rosie (25 ) works as Consultant on Health Policy and has been a Councillor in the London Borough of Southwark since 2010. Health and the environment are key concerns for her. Locally she is very concerned by Tory led attacks on our Environment and Green Belt.

Rosie said:

I am really looking forward to working with the local Liberal Democrat team especially one with such a strong record of standing up for local residents. I want to champion the issues which matter to Spelthorne residents, such as the economy, jobs, the environment and education.

Chairman of Spelthorne Liberal Democrats Chris Bateson said:

We are all delighted to have Rosie on board. I have no doubt she will strengthen our team even further and help us continue holding our Conservative MP and Councils to account.
