Council Officers, Key Workers and Volunteers in Spelthorne thanked

Thank You motion proposed and passed at Council In recognition of the extra work that has been undertaken by Spelthorne Borough Council Officers, Key Workers and Volunteers in Spelthorne, at the last Council meeting for 2020, our group decided it was important to bring the following motion forward. It is in recognition that Officers at Spelthorne have gone above and beyond their normal duties to ensure that the community, especially the vulnerable, have food, medicines and in some cases a friend to talk to over the telephone. We also wanted to recognise the Key Workers who have worked tirelessly to keep our buses running and our shops open and, of course, our NHS workers who have put their own health at risk in treating patients with Covid19.

All but three councillors voted for the motion Local residents had been complaining about the state of planning of large developments in central Staines-upon-Thames and the planning seemed, well, unplanned overall.

The Community Infrastructure Levy (the 'levy') is a charge which can be levied by local authorities on new development in their area.
