Tory minister condemns Surrey tax rise
The Tory Secretary of State for Local Government, Eric Pickles, has criticised Councils for increases in Council tax for the coming year. He spoke of the Councils having a "moral duty" to freeze the levy.

Commenting on the end of US military operations in Iraq, Former Leader of the Liberal Democrats, Sir Menzies Campbell said: "Although Iraq has slipped down the British political agenda it should never be forgotten that the cost of the disastrous decision to join the United States in military action against Iraq was and remains enormous.

Tories AGREE on street Parking Charges
26,289 That's the number of people who signed an on-line petition against Conservative plans to introduce Car parking charges at Ashford, Shepperton, Sunbury Cross and other local shopping centres across the county. Added to several other e-petitions and paper petitions (including our own) more than 50,000 have rejected the Tories mad scheme.
