Charlton Incinerator: The Four Key Tory Betrayals

Conservatives are still trying to pretend they oppose the Incinerator at Charlton. This is not true. They made lots of noise but that was easy. When it mattered most they totally stabbed local residents in the back. The most important thing to note here is that ALL Documents are official ones from the Tory councils themselves - Not political propaganda.

69 cameras set up by Kempton Park to monitor traffic

Sunbury residents were horrified by the sudden appearance of 69 cameras in the area. They actually stretched from Hampton Church to the Shears junction, with the biggest concentration around Sunbury Cross. No doubt what they were for: it was all to do with the Kempton Park Green Belt Development

Bernie goes to court - on behalf of residents

Cllr. Bernie Spoor is going to courrt to appeal against a decision of Spelthorne Council. They have approved yet another alcohol seller on The Parade at The Cross. This makes four shops selling alcohol within 50 yards. The Cross is a recognised high crime area and the easy availability of alcohol is one of the causes. Spelthorne Licensing Committee does have some powers to reject an application. But as usual they took the easiest option.

Halliford lorry ban at last

At last we have our lorry ban in Halliford Village. Sandra Dunn say she is delighted that the ban has been put in at last. Liberal Democrats at both Surrey and Spelthorne have been working with local residents on this issue for several years. We have also raised questions as to why it took the Tories so long to put it in place.

Charlton Eco Park: A chronology of a community let down by its leaders

Set out below is a the history of the Eco Park proposal over the last seven years. From the first hint of an incinerator in the Surrey Waste Plan the local Liberal Democrats have opposed this development and tried to get Spelthorne Council to do something about it. It is a sad story of Conservative controlled councils who stuck their heads in the sand or alternatively actually wanted the development to go ahead. Either way the community has been completely let down by the people who are meant to represent their best interests.
